Spiritual And Emotional Maturity
Wednesday, November 21st 2018
Dear Holy Honored One – Compassion is one of the staples of spiritual growth. To have compassion is to be able to see through the eyes of another. To have compassion is a sign that your growth has evolved.
We all must remember that to have compassion means to be able to put yourself in another’s shoes, so to speak. You must be able to feel what another is feeling and is experiencing. This takes spiritual and emotional maturity.
We also must remember that each of us carries wounds…emotional wounds from our past that navigate how we act, think and feel throughout our lives. If these wounds are not healed and dealt with, a person could go through their life unaware that they are even wounded …and likewise continue hurting other people or themselves in total unawares.
Please remember that everyone has wounds to heal…including you. Be aware of your hurts from childhood – for they follow you throughout your life until you put a stop to it. Learn to recognize when someone is acting out of a wound…have compassion and bless them. Do not take what they say or do personally for it has only to do with their feelings, not yours.
To recognize your own wounds, look for unpleasant patterns in your own life that have haunted you since youth and continue into your present time. That pattern could be something like being rejected over and over, or being abused or dismissed. Seek out help in healing your wounds so that the pattern can stop and you can go free. Amen!
